Lila is coming!

Breathing in, I see myself as a flower.
Breathing out I feel flesh.

Lila is due tomorrow!

Who knows when she'll really come... Miles was two weeks late. But, we are ready and awaiting her arrival. A friend took some belly shots this weekend as I am not sure if I will have another child and I wanted to record being a full belly mama!

Miles has been absolutely adorable and sweet about Lila's coming. He talks about her a lot and makes presents, pictures and cards for her. He has even learned how to spell her name and always lists each of our letters "M, T, S and L." He says he is going to share all of his toys with her!

Tony and I are feeling incredibly happy and blessed, despite all of the craziness we've had going on - our full time jobs and taking care of Miles, of course, touring and applying for kindergartens for the fall... AND, we are in contract to buy a house! It is a bigger house that opened up next door to the cohousing community where we live and if we get it, we will knock down the fence and merge yards, just as we did with our current home. But, we have to sell our home first. So, I am due this week, we are planning a homebirth AND we have two open houses scheduled!

Amazingly, I feel at peace. I'm finding time to take baths, read, welcome Lila and spend special time with Tony and Miles. I can't wait to be on leave time (Tony is taking 4 weeks!) and to just enjoy being at home with Tony, Miles and Lila.
XOXO,
Suzie

I'm preggo!

That's right, I am preggo people.
No cute pictures of the big belly mama this time around.
Think i will keep this pasty hump hidden under my shirt for now.

Of course, we are thrilled and feel this is perfect timing for our family. Meanwhile, we're having a great summer, including a great trip to the jersey shore with family and friends (spent Miles' b-day with his grandma and grandpa Miller; joined Rita and her family and baby boy, Maxwell, for his 1st birthday, and saw David and Mona); a whale watching adventure in Monterey earlier this week; and a trip to Colorado in August.

Hope everyone is well.
Love,
Suzie

Our wonderful week in Kaua'i!

We had a wonderful week-long trip to Kaua'i... In fact, thanks to our ATA return tix being canceled we got to stay a couple of days longer (won't even talk about what that did to our credit card debt!). We balanced the trip between a stay in a resort hotel and a stay in a more remote house with a beautiful long distance view of the ocean, a hot tub on the deck and plenty of geckos to keep us company at night and roosters to wake us in the morning. We did some great little hikes to the ocean and a sunset cruise enabled us to see a whole school of dolphins - so many just came darting around and under our boat it was amazing! We even saw one whale, tho' from quite far away.

The scenery and weather were beautiful and Miles got more and more comfortable swimming - what with the 5 pools and 2 hot tubs at the hotel! He was nervous about the ocean most of the trip, but by the end he just decided to go for it and went right in with Tony.

Digging in the dirt

Oh, How I remember LOVING playing in the dirt when I was a kid! And, as it turns out, I still enjoy it. Miles, our neighbor Tali (8) and I, built a lovely little creek along the side of our house today. We had so much fun digging the holes, collecting rocks and pine cones to put around the edges, and of course, pouring in the water!

Celebrating Valentine's Day

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day, even with Tony out of town. When Miles woke up, I had put out flowers, a card and a little present for him. The gift was a chocolate frog, which he proceeded to eat right away! The sugar rush continued as we made cupcakes and later decorated them with our friend Kaia.

Miles' Constructivist Masterpiece!

Made with blue painter's tape, cardboard cereal box, skewer sticks, wire and beads.

Our big boy!

While Tony was away in Brazil for work, Miles decided to cut his hair. He looks beautiful, but seeing him look so grown up has been quite a shock! One morning, I was lying in bed feeling so lucky that Miles was playing so peacefully while I slept in. Then, he came bursting into our room and said "Look Mommy, I cut my hair!"

I was so busy that week with Tony away, that Miles had to spend the whole week wearing his avant-garde creation before we could get his hair cut!

Wish my man a happy birthday!

It's his b-day this Friday, January 25th!

Beach Vacations

It's cold and yucky outside, so i thought I'd share some beach vacation pics I never posted. There are some from September when Tony and I rented a cabin at Stinson Beach. We stayed there for two days on our own while my parents watched Miles and then Miles joined us for the third night. We also went down to San Diego in October and camped oceanside in our V-dub. We had awesome weather.... and I am missing being tan right about now!
