We had a wonderful little trip earlier this week. Gotta love the Bay Area where we can do a little 3-day tour on one tank of gas and have a great time.
We started out by camping at Mount Diablo.
A ranger said that the views that day were some of the best he's seen in 6 months.
We then went to the Gilroy Gardens - a fabulous little amusement park for young kids. It's beautifully landscaped, very clean and small enough to feel managable. The rides are really gentle and sweet. Miles particularly loved the train and the cars, which the kids actually get to "drive."

After the Gilroy Gardens, we stayed in a hotel with a swimming pool and went swimming the next morning (Miles had tested out his new life vest in the bath tub before we left).It can be difficult traveling with a toddler - no matter how wonderful he is - and sometimes the car travel was trying. So, it was nice that the driving time was always fairly short.
